A very present help in trouble"When in trouble how often do we turn to God first? When we do turn to God, do we view him as a present help? Or do we view him as a distant figure?
If Jesus can calm the storm (Matt 8: 23-27) when in the middle of it, then he is right there in the midst of the problem. To go to God as our refuge means we look to him as our protection from danger: now, here right in the middle of trouble. Whether we are far out to sea or tucked up in our beds God is right there to protect us in the storms of our lives and to provide all the help we need. All we have to do is turn to him.
